Inspiration Definition

The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative….

Hello Mum reader…!

Is there a part of you that wants to feel encouraged, alive and inspired to do what you love in this life…..whether it’s career, passions, mum life, wifey, roller skater chick, macrame knitter or all of the above?

I’m punting with a penny at sunday’s races that many of you feel like you could be doing more, like your cup is full…. but with prosecco and single mum by choice duties or not so duties..

Now you’re anxiously standing over the bar saying “what else you got my soul’s mission has completed only half the race!”

In this era (this modern, zig zag, hustle, love hard, distraction filled culture) so so many people are facing this question and reality within themselves. It’s like we are now being diagnosed with “lost soul mission syndrome” questioning what we want out of life and how best to give a harry hoot and feel more inspired towards meaning and purpose...and something for us!

I want to throw a spanner in the works and say that I think it’s very rare to wake up and say “THANKYOU UNIVERSE” I’ve found my purpose I’m inspired or “I came out the womb with a paint brush and pallet”

And as honest as a girl scout with a box of gluten free tim tams…..I’ve been that family member at the dinner table, with her 14,393 idea, and this one was going to be it, like the yellow wiggle.

Booked, signed and I’m not changing costumes..I’d start out like Usain Bolt, and never finish like the tortoise and the hare….only I was the tortoise.

Not only that, I was damn convincing, and my family would gaze at me rather endearingly, with a side wink of obligation, to support my next idea because they could see my heart and enthusiasm….but did not know whether this was yet another stab into the wiggles birthday cake.

Now, thankfully, I’ve learned from that emotional wondering, enthusiasm, lack of focus and too much cake that the way forward, is the path to least resistance, and a realisation of the empowerment in following through with ideas, thoughts and feelings that I care about that contribute towards my own inner fire, wellbeing and purpose, but also my sons.

The way forward is less about dead set passion and purpose from the get go, but more about “yes I have hopes and dreams too I’m just going to begin, and it's not always going to be a smooth easy road."

The way forward is full permission to explore the deeper feelings of trust and exploration that there’s a path to alignment and inspiration for everyone that lights them up, fills their cup, and gives them a creative outlet for inspiration and joy, whilst raising my son, and can it be sustainable as a single mum?

So after surrendering to my 14,393 idea the voice in my heart says this….

I believe we’re not here to chase what we love to do, but to call it in, like afternoon tea and yoga, to encourage belief in ourselves without feeling like we need to be chanting from the top of the alps led by a guru who is the only one with the answers and we must follow them like kardishan re-runs.

Truthfully, you have your our own gifts, dreams, abilities and freedom to explore new possibilities and fullfillment. But it takes intentional moments and effort to look within, and there is no gift or idea too big or too small, it’s simply that, your genius...your ideas, your gift!

So where do you start you say?

Maybe, as a mum you want to carve out time to do some authentic dreaming on paper.

Maybe you love to plan and you have this idea but you just are struggling with the confidence to make it happen so you need to get some inspiration from people who know where you're at and can help you get clear and make an action plan.

Maybe you just are simply not motivated and there’s some deeper feelings to work through to become more motivated.

Or maybe you just want to spend less 'doing' time and more being because you get inspiration from quiet moments!! (totally back this idea BTW)

Wherever you are at there’s an opportunity to move ahead if you want to and we musn’t judge ourselves for not being wonder woman.

Ask yourself this….

What do you really want?

Wealth?
More time?
Soul freedom?
Holidays with the kids?
A lover?
To find community and learn to dance?

More help as a single mum?
To start that home catering business you always wanted to do and say goodbye to your 9-5?

And why do you want these things for your life?

People struggle with these questions (think catwoman in a costume change)...because as a society we are taught to follow the flock in order to succeed, before we’re taught to feel and believe in ourselves and turn inward.

And as single mums, I'll admit we sometimes give ourselves the punchy perfect title of we’re time poor, money poor and burnt out….and yes we face these situations, but being able to recognize what lights us up is a great first step to staying inspired in mum life and stepping away from the trap of feeling less capable of tuning into more meaning and purpose for ourselves.

So to share with you my fundamentals that I've adopted through effort education and intention, I feel most inspired by my life as a single mum when I...

Feel good in my body and create healthy sustainable habits.

Having people in my life that support me fully and also challenge me.

Learning to truly love and accepting myself.

Become attuned to and understanding myself emotionally.

Learning to embrace and embody all of me...light and shade.

Deciding that there’s more for my life with a side dish of gratitude for where I'm at.

Being ok with failure.

Tuning out of the voice in my head, and tuning into the voice in my heart.

Not settling for mediocre.

Not jumping on the shiny object bandwagon and chasing the money before the alignment.

Questioning why I’m thinking of changing ideas, and is it just a matter of commitment and focus.

..Last but not least!

…Having fun! (yes there will be days you’ll find the bob the builder hammer is more useful as sledge hammer on a white wall) but that’s part of stepping outside the box and learning to believe in yourself and your inspired new found challenges and beginnings.

So….

What is it for you that are the fundamentals to help you move towards that voice that says “I’m going to raise my beliefs and love more of what inspires me for me in mum life.?”

Do you need to start communicating with your loved ones, friends or partners about ideas and deciding you’ll carve out a few hours a week to explore them?

Do you need to foster a more positive outlook on money and your work so you don’t feel like you’re in scarcity, or do you need to just commit to making money to help you develop your passion?

Do you need to feel into and better understand creative stuck points….?

Do you need to get your brain and body sharper so you feel less fatigued and can start incorporating new feelings and energy into new ideas?

Do you need to find a community you can connect with that help you align to values and things you love so your feel more inspired in your journey to new beginnings?

Do you simply need to remove mum guilt about doing things for you and tune to a higher emotional vibration to feel more inspired?

Do you need to educate yourself more on alignment and purpose to discover more about what makes you tick?

…You get my drift now right?!…

The beauty of life is that our journey is unique to us, and we are the ones who get to decide how to cultivate what we want, and only you know what is right and true for you.

So, if I had a couple hours spare initially, I’d spend some time reflecting on what your fundamentals are to fostering an environment that will help you move towards your ideas and passions and what you feel you TRULY want and starting envisioning small steps and how you want to bring these into your day to day life.

For me, this journey really began when I decided I wasn’t going to settle for the rent story and show my son single mums can make big decisions so I built a house…(head over to XYZ blog for that story) which fuelled my confidence to date, (head over to XYZ blog for that story…)... which fuelled my confidence to create this blog and so on….:)

Now, I'm even teaching myself how to shuffle, because I remembered how much dance and moving my body helps me feel alive, inspired and connected to my soul....so fun!

Has it been easy? Heck no!

Was it uncomfortable? Totally!

Was it worth it. You bet ya sista..

So like I said just start to explore…like Dora….(you knew that was coming) 😉

In fact, if you have little ones, put a few re-runs on and start now… Don’t make it this magnanimous thing like corella Daville, imperfection is how everyone gets started….just grab a cuppa and a quiet hour and darn well explore what’s in your heart because you will be so surprised at what may be revealed, and there’s no transformation to big or small…it’s the beginning that counts.

And because it’s in my heart and inspired mission to serve single mums I’ve got a free download for you with some truly inspiring inner journey questions to help you become clearer on your journey to becoming more of the joy in you🙂

Keep rising!
